Who we are

With a vibrant background in the restaurant trade, husband and wife Omar and Bess are opening an atmospheric, coffee-fuelled café bar in the heart of Honiton. Their aim is to embrace the local culture, people and High Street as they grow.

After moving to Devon in 2022 for Omar’s pro rugby coaching role, they want to settle down, spend quality time as a family, and build a community around Bisous for everyone to enjoy. The name reflects their love of France and the French language—Omar speaks fluently and they sometimes use French so their daughters don’t understand everything. “Bisous, bisous” (kiss kiss) is what they say to each other and to the girls, and it felt like the perfect name.

Reviews

“What a fantastic little café—without a doubt the best place in Honiton. The coffee is consistently excellent, and the vibes are absolutely perfect. The owner is genuinely passionate and welcoming and the pastries are next-level too—the pistachio croissants are unbelievably good. Highly recommended!”

“Great coffee, sandwiches and delicious, interesting pastries. It feels a bit different to most of the usual cafes. A lovely place to sit, inside or out. Friendly, helpful staff and great to support a local business.”

“Beautiful interior to this cafe, amazing pastries and the best toasted sourdough sandwich I think I’ve ever had. I couldn’t eat it all, so wrapped the rest up and ate it cold later and it was still delicious.”
